Inspiration Behind the Name
Do you know who created the first monetary system using a standard of pure gold coins? Meet Croesus, the King of Lydia (which is now western Turkey) who created the Croeseid (the pure gold coin) circa 550 BCE. The Croeseid was the first PURE gold coin that allowed people to have faith in the money they were using. Because the gold coins were pure and their value was guaranteed by the state, the people of Lydia were able to fairly trade and exchange goods and services. The man quite literally created the first reliable and standardized monetary system.
Inspired by Croesus’ use of pure gold to create a system that relieved its people from worrying about the value of their money, we wanted to put on display and really showcase the pure material that enabled a shift in history. The 24K pure gold seen through the glass candle pays homage to how capable we are as humans to innovate and transform the future.
This 24k gold lined glass candle is meant for the forward thinkers who are always looking at the present with the intent of making the future better for themselves and others. Wherever you style this candle in your home, we hope you admire the gold and remember just how transformative this innovation was. Take that, and understand that you are also capable of spearheading change. Croesus was a human, and so are you.
